ClaraBelle, A.K.A ClaraBelle, is a 72 lb female born July 1997. She
is a permanent foster. We were told she had an enlarged heart.
Apparantly the vet didn't realize that all Greys have large hearts because they
are atheletes. She has lost almost 10 lbs and is very healthy.
She can keep up with dogs half her age.
UPDATE: She broke her inside toe how I don't know but has to wear a splint for 6 weeks. We're half way right now. In the first three weeks she broke two splints. The Vet, Dr. Decker, rewrapped it today with two splints and a piece of 90 degree angle aluminum (I added). This should last her the next three weeks. Well, her toe didn't heal right so we had to have it amputated. She's walking on it now. Just a few more days with the bandage and she's done. We went through 7 weeks of crap trying to save her toe and two weeks without the toe and she's better. Oct 1, 2008 ClaraBelle has been diagnosed with hypertension. This is something that only appears in Greyhounds. There is a good article in CG magazine. Our beautiful ClaraBelle passed away today, 5/14/2009. She went into convulsions at about 2:00 am this morning. She was our packs' referee whenever the others were playing. She is now playing with her sister Cindy Lou who we lost on March 29, 2006. She was a very sweet girl that everyone loved. I will miss her greyty and she will always be in my heart. |
